"Skipping Down to the Beach" is a reflection of my travel experiences and a celebration of the supportive, caring friendships I’ve formed throughout my four years of college. For my 22nd birthday this year, my best friends and I visited Bodega Bay for the weekend. We enjoyed the entire day at this beach, basking in the warm January sunshine and exploring the tide pools teeming with marine life. As the day drew to a close, I witnessed the sun setting, casting a natural glow on the cliffs and foliage. It was one of the most beautiful beach sunsets I’ve experienced. This painting captures the beauty of that lovely day’s end, forever immortalizing the precious moments shared with friends. The painting therefore serves as a timeless testament to my special college relationships and to that beautiful afternoon in Bodega Bay. Additionally, it is an appreciation of the surrounding Bay Area, where I’ve been lucky enough to grow up and also call my home base throughout my adventures.
